We help young people gain the skills they need to shine bright

Alpine Explorer Scout Unit was formed in 2002 following the Scout Associations decision to cease Venture Scouting and create Explorer Scouting for young people aged 14-18 to meet the changing needs of the generation.

Welcome to Alpine ESU

We are a thriving and active Explorer Scout unit with over 50 members aged 14 to 18. Alpine ESU is supported by dedicated adult volunteer scout leaders, who organise, support and facilitate exciting activities, experiences and camps for the young people.

We encourage the young people to develop their own leadership skills by supporting them to organise activities and events themselves as well as offering them the opportunity to become Young Leaders.

We also offer young people to opportunity to undertake their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award at Bronze, Silver and Gold levels alongside the Chief Scout Awards and activity badges.

Helping and supporting the young people to grow into adulthood, developing new friendships, leadership and organisational skills as well as having fun is key to the unit’s success.
